In a significant political development, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has clinched a resounding victory in the Assembly Constituency 87 - Visavadar bye-election in Gujarat.
Italia Gopal emerged as the clear winner following the final count from all 21 rounds, signaling a strong mandate for the AAP in the region.
According to data released by the Election Commission of India, Italia Gopal of the Aam Aadmi Party secured a total of 75,942 votes, comprising 51.04% of the total votes polled.
This impressive performance positioned him significantly ahead of his rivals in this crucial Gujarat constituency.
The bye-election witnessed a keen three-cornered contest, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate, Kirit Patel, finishing as the runner-up.
Patel garnered 58,388 votes, accounting for 39.24% of the total votes.
The Indian National Congress (INC) candidate, Nitin Ranpariya, secured the third position with 5,501 votes, translating to 3.7% of the vote share.
