New Delhi, June 26, 2025:

In a bid to enforce transparency and regulatory compliance, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has initiated the process to delist 345 Registered Unrecognized Political Parties (RUPPs) for failing to meet essential conditions.

No Electoral Activity Since 2019

The Commission’s action targets those political outfits that have not participated in any Lok Sabha, State Assembly, or by-elections since 2019. This large-scale cleanup is aimed at ensuring only active and law-abiding political entities remain on official records.

Parties With No Traceable Offices

In addition to their electoral inactivity, the Commission found that many of these 345 parties had no traceable physical office presence anywhere in the country, further justifying their removal from the official registry.

The delisting exercise is part of the Commission’s ongoing efforts to ensure transparency, combat shell political outfits, and promote electoral integrity.
