The bye election for Assembly Constituency 35 - Nilambur in Kerala concluded with a significant victory for the Indian National Congress. The contest saw strong competition from major parties and independent candidates, reflecting the vibrant political landscape of the region.
Here is the detailed vote share and total votes secured by each candidate in the June 2025 bye election.
Bye Election Results: Nilambur, Kerala (Descending Order)
ARYADAN SHOUKATH (Indian National Congress) emerged victorious with 77,737 votes (77,087 EVM + 650 postal), capturing 44.17% of the total votes.
M. SWARAJ (Communist Party of India - Marxist) secured the second position with 66,660 votes (66,159 EVM + 501 postal), accounting for 37.88% of the votes.
P.V. ANVAR (Independent) came third with 19,760 votes (19,690 EVM + 70 postal), representing 11.23% of the total.
ADV. MOHAN GEORGE (Bharatiya Janata Party) received 8,648 votes (8,562 EVM + 86 postal), which is 4.91% of the votes.
ADV. SADIK NADUTHODI (Social Democratic Party Of India) got 2,075 votes (2,072 EVM + 3 postal), making up 1.18%.
Other independent candidates received minimal votes:
HARINARAYANAN: 185 votes (0.11%)
SADEESH KUMAR. G: 114 votes (0.06%)
VIJAYAN: 85 votes (0.05%)
N. JAYARAJAN: 52 votes (0.03%)
P. RADHAKRISHNAN NAMBOOTHIRIPPAD: 43 votes (0.02%)
NOTA (None of the Above) option was chosen by 630 voters (627 EVM + 3 postal), accounting for 0.36%.
TOTAL VOTES POLLED: 175,989 (174,667 EVM + 1,322 postal).
