Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today said that the state is committed to sustainable resource management, exploration of critical and rare earth minerals, and knowledge-driven growth.
He was addresding the Workshop on “Mineral Exploration in Goa: Challenges, Opportunities & the Way Forward” at Kautilya Lekha Bhavan, Porvorim.
He emphasized that progressive policies like E-Auctioning and the Dump Policy, along with a focus on environmental protection and community engagement, are ushering Goa into a new era of transparent and responsible mining.
The workshop aims to strengthen sustainable mineral exploration, promote ease of doing business, and foster responsible mining practices in Goa through collaboration with key government bodies and research institutions.
The workshop was organised by the Directorate of Mines & Geology, Government of Goa, in collaboration with the Ministry of Mines (NMET), GSI, and MEC.
