Guwahati, January 2, 2026:
Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma launched a financial assistance scheme for Udasin Bhakats at Lok Sewa Bhawan.
Under the scheme, each beneficiary will receive Rs. 1,500 per month. Around 634 Udasin Bhakats have been covered in the first phase.
The Chief Minister said the initiative aims to recognise the spiritual and cultural contributions of Udasin Bhakats associated with satras. Cabinet Minister Bimal Borah was also present at the launch programme.
