Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai laid the foundation stone for Rs 146 crore Bhoramdeo Corridor Development Project at Bhoramdeo Dham in Kabirdham district on January 1, 2026.
Extending New Year greetings, the Chief Minister said the 2026 commencement with this historic initiative is a matter of pride for Chhattisgarh.
The Chief Minister said that the Bhoramdeo Corridor will provide a renewed identity to the state’s ancient heritage as the site represents a unique confluence of devotion to Lord Shiva, natural beauty, and rich cultural legacy.
The project will be developed at an estimated cost of about Rs. 146 crore under the Central Government’s Swadesh Darshan Yojana 2.0, on the lines of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor.
Mr. Sai described Bhoramdeo Temple as “Khajuraho of Chhattisgarh”, symbolising 1,000 years of spiritual practice, architecture and tribal traditions, attracting devotees during Shravan Kanwar Yatra and Mahashivratri.
He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for national recognition of Bhoramdeo temple.
Mr. Shekhawat called the day historic and said the nearly thousand-year-old Bhoramdeo Temple is a precious heritage site, and the corridor project will ensure its preservation for future generations while giving Kabirdham a distinct identity.
He also credited state government for advancing Prime Minister Modi’s vision, curbing Naxalism and infrastructure gains.
Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Sharma and Arun Sao, Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu, MP Santosh Pandey, Pandariya MLA Bhawana Bohra were also present.
