PM Modi Advises Students On Stress-Free Exams, Discipline, Life Skills & Balanced Use Of Technology

Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with students during the 9th edition of the popular interactive programme Pariksha Pe Charcha. In the 2nd video episode released today, the Prime Minister was seen addressing how to overcome stress and anxiety during exams and also inspired students to look beyond exams, focus on life skills, sports, creativity, and self-growth.

During the interaction, PM Modi encouraged students to begin their entrepreneurial journey with small start-ups, saying big ideas often grow from modest beginnings. He advised students to reach out to industry professionals to understand how real-world systems function and to gain practical exposure beyond textbooks.

On maintaining the balance between studies and passion, the Prime Minister said that students should not view academics and creative pursuits as separate or opposing paths. He said both are equally valuable and can be balanced effectively. Mr Modi underlined that art and creative hobbies can help students relieve stress and fatigue arising from academic pressure.

The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of civic responsibility, urging students to follow basic rules such as not littering, not spitting on roads, obeying traffic signals, and avoiding food wastage. He said that disciplined daily behaviour plays a crucial role in nation-building.

Highlighting initiatives like Vocal for Local, the Prime Minister said choosing Indian-made products strengthens the domestic economy. He also referred to the ‘Wed in India’ campaign, encouraging couples to celebrate weddings within the country rather than abroad. PM Modi noted that every small step taken by citizens contributes to achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Prime Minister Modi underlined that discipline and motivation are both essential. He said that without discipline, inspiration alone is ineffective. The Prime Minister added that discipline gives direction while motivation strengthens the journey.

Responding to a question on whether artificial intelligence and technology should be feared, and how students can use technology to build their careers, the Prime Minister said there is no need to fear technology, and instead, students should ensure that they use technology wisely rather than becoming dependent on it. He described technology as a powerful teacher and encouraged students to embrace it with awareness and responsibility, using it as a tool for learning, innovation, and growth.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi advised students to travel not merely as tourists, but as learners, encouraging them to explore new places with curiosity and a desire to understand their culture, history, and way of life. He said a good student develops a strong grip over subjects, keeps trying, and engages in healthy competition, while also making friends with peers who struggle academically and helping them learn.

Emphasising the broader role of education, he said it is essential not only for personal growth but also for social life and should never be underestimated. The Prime Minister highlighted that sports must be made an integral part of daily life and students should practice breathing exercises at least once a day.

On environmental responsibility, PM Modi said protecting natural resources should become part of one’s habit, and that change happens gradually by bringing more people together. Responding to a question on leadership, the Prime Minister said future leaders must be able to communicate ideas clearly and effectively. He added that learning should include writing and practice, not just reading. He cautioned students against being impressed by success alone and urged them to learn from the humble beginnings of great personalities.

Further, the Prime Minister said India’s progress is enriched by its tribal communities. He asked students to never settle in life and always strive for more. Prime Minister Modi advised parents not to create a competitive environment at home and asked students to avoid unhealthy comparisons and instead focus on self-improvement.

Pariksha pe Charcha programme aims to discuss exam stress and celebrate examinations as an Utsav and an integral part of life. This year, the interactive sessions were held with Exam Warriors in Devmogra, Coimbatore, Raipur, Guwahati, and at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg in Delhi. The Ministry of Education said that more than four crore fifty lakh students, teachers and parents registered for the programme through the MyGov portal.

Conceptualised by the Prime Minister, Pariksha Pe Charcha seeks to reshape the examination experience of students by promoting confidence, positivity and holistic well-being in line with the National Education Policy 2020. The programme was telecast on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s YouTube channel, Doordarshan, Akashvani, Ministry of Education’s social media platforms and on WAVES OTT.

PM Highlights Students’ Potential, ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ Spirit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that our students are endowed with extraordinary talent and possess the complete potential to turn their dreams into reality. He noted that the objective of Pariksha Pe Charcha is to guide students on how to meaningfully use their abilities and skills for personal growth and success.

The Prime Minister shared a Sanskrit Verse on the occasion-

“विद्या वितर्को विज्ञानं स्मृतिस्तत्परता क्रिया। यस्यैते षड्गुणास्तस्य नासाध्यमतिवर्तते॥”

The Verse conveys that a person who possesses knowledge, logic, science, memory, promptness and activity can overcome any challenge, and nothing is impossible for such an individual.
