Union Budget Human-Centric, Strengthening India’s Foundation Through Reforms: PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that the Union Budget is human-centric and strengthens India’s foundation with path-breaking reforms. The Prime Minister also described it as historic and a catalyst for accelerating the country’s reform trajectory and long-term growth.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the ‘Union Budget 2026-27’ in Parliament on Sunday Morning.
In remarks following the presentation of the Budget, PM Modi said the proposals will energise the economy, empower citizens and give India’s youth fresh opportunities to scale new heights.
Calling the government’s reform agenda a “Reform Express”, the Prime Minister said, the reform express that India is riding today will gain new energy and new momentum from this budget.
The path-breaking reforms that have been undertaken give the bold, talented youth of an aspirational India the open skies to soar, he said.
Highlighting the country’s ambitions on the global stage, PM Modi said Indians were determined to climb further up the economic ladder.
The Prime Minister said that 140 crore citizens of India are not satisfied with being the fastest-growing economy and they want to become the world’s third-largest economy as soon as possible.
Prime Minister Modi said that sunrise sectors, infrastructure and capital expenditure have received major encouragement, and young people will benefit the most from the new policy thrusts and trade initiatives outlined in the budget.
The Prime Minister said, this is a unique budget that focuses on reducing the fiscal deficit and controlling inflation, while also emphasising high CAPEX and high growth.
PM Modi Meets Arab Foreign Ministers, Reaffirms India–Arab Cooperation
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday received a delegation of Foreign Ministers of Arab countries, the Secretary General of the League of Arab States and Heads of Arab delegations, who are in New Delhi for the second India-Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister highlighted the deep and historic people-to-people ties between India and the Arab world, which have continued to inspire and strengthen the relations over the years.
PM Modi outlined his vision for the India-Arab partnership in the years ahead. He reaffirmed India’s commitment to further deepen cooperation in trade and investment, energy, technology, healthcare and other priority areas for the mutual benefit of the peoples of the countries.
Prime Minister Modi reiterated India’s continued support for the people of Palestine and welcomed ongoing peace efforts, including the Gaza peace plan.
He conveyed his appreciation for the important role played by the Arab League in supporting efforts towards regional peace and stability.
Punjab’s Adampur Airport Renamed After Guru Ravidass
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday visited Punjab where he unveiled the new name of Punjab’s Adampur airport on the occasion was 649th birth anniversary of revered saint and social reformer, Guru Ravidass.
The terminal has been renamed as ‘Shri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji Airport’.
The Prime Minister stated that it is a matter of immense honour and pride that today, on the auspicious occasion of Sant Ravidass Jayanti, it has been decided that the Adampur Airport will now onwards be known as Shri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji Airport.
PM Modi added that it is a fitting tribute to the timeless ideals of Shri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji and his message of equality, compassion and service continues to motivate us all greatly.
Halwara Airport Terminal Building Inauguration
PM Modi also virtually inaugurated the terminal building at the Halwara airport in Ludhiana.
Prime Minister Modi stated that the inauguration of a terminal building at the Halwara Airport is a moment of immense joy for the people of Punjab, especially Ludhiana and surrounding areas.
PM Modi added that Ludhiana is a vital industrial and commercial hub in Northern India and the Government is working tirelessly to improve air connectivity for this city, reflecting in the ongoing works for a modern airport.
Prime Minister Pays Homage To Guru Ravidass
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid tributes to saint Guru Ravidass on his birth anniversary.
PM Modi stated that in his thoughts, the spirit of justice and compassion was supreme, which forms the very foundation of our schemes for public welfare.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday welcomed addition of the Patna Bird Sanctuary in Etah (Uttar Pradesh) and Chhari-Dhand in Kutch (Gujarat) as Ramsar sites.
