Govt Putting Great Emphasis On Bringing ‘Technology Culture’ To Agriculture: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the government is putting great emphasis on bringing a ‘technology culture’ to agriculture.

Addressing a post-budget webinar on the theme ‘Agriculture and Rural Transformation’ through video conferencing, PM Modi said the government is developing digital public infrastructure for agriculture through AgriStack.

He noted the creation of Kisan IDs and digital land surveys as transformative steps.

Highlighting the role of AI-based platforms and digital surveys, the Prime Minister stated that technology only yields results when it is integrated by institutions and entrepreneurs. He called for suggestions on how to effectively merge technology with traditional systems.

Prime Minister Modi said the government has continuously strengthened the agriculture sector. He said that major efforts have reduced the risks for farmers and provided them with basic economic security.

The Prime Minister noted that 10 crore farmers have received over four lakh crore rupees as PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and nearly two lakh crore rupees in insurance claims have been settled under ‘PM Fasal Bima Yojana’. He also noted that the institutional credit coverage has become more than 75 per cent.

“Agriculture remains the backbone of India’s economy and a strategic pillar for the country’s long-term development journey,” PM Modi said, adding this year’s Union Budget gives a strong push to agriculture and rural transformation. He highlighted that India is currently witnessing record production across food grains, pulses and oilseeds.

The Prime Minister said market access has been democratised through eNAM. Mr Modi highlighted that the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the Swamitva Yojana, the PM Gramin Sadak Yojana, and financial assistance to self-help groups have continuously strengthened the rural economy. He added that the animal husbandry sector is a high-growth pillar of the rural economy.

PM Modi highlighted that the government has successfully achieved the target of creating three crore Lakhpati Didis, and the country has set a target to add another three crore Lakhpati Didis by 2029.

The Prime Minister stated that India is the world’s second-largest fish producer. He said that while approximately 4.5 lakh tonnes of fish are currently produced in various reservoirs and ponds, there exists a potential for an additional 20 lakh tonnes of production. He added that Fisheries can become a major platform for export growth.

PM Modi emphasised the need for new business models in hatcheries, feed, and logistics to realise the potential of the Blue Economy. He encouraged strong coordination between the fisheries department and local communities.

PM Modi To Inaugurate & Lay Foundation Stone Of Multiple Development Projects Worth Around 33,500 Crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth around 33, 500 crore rupees in New Delhi on Sunday.

PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of Delhi metro projects worth about 18,300 crore rupees. He will inaugurate two new corridors of the Delhi Metro. These include the Majlis Park-Maujpur Babarpur (Pink Line) corridor of around 12.3 kilometres and the Deepali Chowk-Majlis Park (Magenta Line) corridor of around 9.9 kilometres.

Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stone for three new corridors under Phase 5-A of the Delhi Metro, covering a route length of over 16 kilometres.

PM Modi will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple projects worth 15,200 crore rupees under the General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) Redevelopment Plan.

Spread across key locations such as Sarojini Nagar, Netaji Nagar, Kasturba Nagar and Sriniwaspuri, these projects are part of the Government’s ambitious programme to modernise GPRA colonies and create world-class infrastructure for Government employees and administrative offices.

Prime Minister Congratulates Successful Candidates Of Civil Services Examination

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated all those who have successfully cleared the Civil Services Examination, 2025.

In a social media post, Mr Modi said their dedication, perseverance and hard work have led to this significant milestone.

The Prime Minister wished them the very best as they embark on a journey of serving the nation and fulfilling the aspirations of the people.

PM Modi said he understands that for those who may not have secured the desired outcome in the Civil Services Examination, such moments can be difficult.

He said, however, that this is only one step in a larger journey. The Prime Minister said many opportunities lie ahead, both in future examinations and in the many avenues through which they can contribute to the nation. He conveyed best wishes to them for the road ahead.

PM Highlights Power Of Determination And Hard Work

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the people of India, through their firm resolve, make even the most difficult tasks possible. He noted that with tireless effort in the right direction, they achieve even the biggest goals.

The Prime Minister shared a Sanskrit verse on X-

“यद् दूरं यद् दुराराध्यं यच्च दूरे व्यवस्थितम्।

तत् सर्वं तपसा साध्यं तपो हि दुरतिक्रमम्॥”

The verse conveys that no matter how far, difficult, or out of reach a goal may seem, it can be achieved through firm determination and continuous hard work. Determination and patience are the forces that turn the impossible into possible.
