PM Modi Launches ₹11,000 Crore Development Projects in Kochi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi accelerated the development of Keralam by launching multiple high-impact projects worth about ₹11,000 crore in Kochi.

The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the Polypropylene Unit at the Kochi Refinery to strengthen the petroleum sector. The unit will produce four lakh tonnes annually to support the packaging, textile and medical device industries.

Emphasizing its importance, PM Modi said, “To build a self-reliant India, for ‘Make in India’, the expansion of the petroleum sector is essential.”

Highlighting India’s progress in AI and semiconductors and the growing demand for sustainable energy, the Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for a 50 MW Floating Solar Project in West Kallada. He noted that with numerous water bodies, Keralam has great potential for floating solar power.

Modernization efforts at Shoranur Junction, Kuttipuram, and Changanassery, along with the new Palakkad–Pollachi train service, are set to transform the travel experience for residents of both Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the PM said.

On road infrastructure, the Prime Minister highlighted how the new six-lane projects, including the Kozhikode Bypass and improved connectivity to Azhikkal Port, will drastically reduce travel time and congestion.

Concluding his address, he expressed confidence that these initiatives would help achieve the vision of a “Viksit Keralam.”

PM Modi Launches ₹ 5,600 Crore Projects In Tamil Nadu

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a series of developmental projects at Tiruchirappalli aimed at strengthening infrastructure and economic growth in Tamil Nadu.

The initiatives, with a total investment of ₹5,600 crore, cover clean energy, petroleum-related manufacturing, and improved connectivity through highways, railways, and rural roads.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said, “These projects will boost energy access, connectivity, and create thousands of jobs for the youth of Tamil Nadu.”

Focusing on sustainable energy, he laid the foundation stone for Bharat Petroleum’s City Gas Distribution network, a ₹3,700 crore project that will provide Piped Natural Gas to nearly nine lakh families and commercial establishments in the Nilgiris and Erode districts.

Highlighting the environmental benefits, PM Modi said, “The positive environmental impact of this project over just eight years will be similar to the planting of four crore trees.”

The Prime Minister also dedicated Indian Oil Corporation’s Lube Blending Plant in Chennai to the nation, describing it as one of the largest facilities of its kind globally that will support the ‘Make in India’ initiative and reduce lubricant imports.

Additionally, he inaugurated 370 kilometres of rural roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and announced a highway bypass at Gangaikonda Cholapuram to protect the UNESCO-recognized temple built by Emperor Rajendra Chola.

Prime Minister Modi also flagged off new train services linking several key cities.

Nation’s Progress, Well-Being Rooted In Collective Strength, Says PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a Sanskrit verse on X emphasising on collective strength and resolve for progress and well-being of the nation:

“स्वस्ति पन्थामनुचरेम सूर्याचन्द्रमसाविव।

पुनर्ददाताघ्नता जानता सङ्गमेमहि॥”

The Prime Minister said that boundless strength of the people of India is the axis of the nation’s development. Through our capabilities and mutual trust, we have realized every resolve and will continue to do so in the future.

The verse conveys that, may we continuously walk on the auspicious path like the sun and the moon. May we move forward together with mutual nonviolence, harmony, and wisdom, and with each other’s’ support towards progress and well-being.
