Chief Electoral Officer of Jammu and Kashmir, Sanjeev Verma, held an interactive session with representatives of print media at Nirvachan Bhavan, Jammu on June 16, 2025, to foster better coordination and communication between the Election Department and media houses.
CEO Verma emphasized the crucial role of media in delivering accurate, timely, and transparent election-related information to the public.
He thanked media outlets for their support and effective coverage during recent Parliamentary and Assembly elections.
Appreciating the media’s contribution to promoting voter education and democratic values, the CEO acknowledged their efforts in raising awareness about the SVEEP initiative, and countering misinformation and myths related to the electoral process.
During the session, media representatives suggested creating a dedicated WhatsApp group for streamlined updates and coordination.
The CEO assured that the Election Department would continue to ensure prompt dissemination of press releases, updates, and visuals to enhance media outreach and public engagement.
