Prime Minister Narendra Modi today told a rally that he turned down US President Donald Trump's invitation to be on the sacred soil of Mahaprabhu’s Odisha.
He was speaking after inaugurating development projects worth over ₹18,600 crore, marking the first anniversary of the BJP-led Odisha government.
Recalling his recent foreign visit, Prime Minister Modi revealed he declined an invitation from US President Trump to visit Washington, choosing instead to return to Odisha - the sacred land of Mahaprabhu - emphasizing his deep connection with the state.
Prime Minister Modi praised Odisha’s BJP government for successfully completing one year, calling it a milestone in governance and public trust.
He congratulated Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and his team for their dedicated efforts towards the state’s progress.
Targeting the Congress, Prime Minister Modi criticized its governance, saying it lacked development and good administration.
He credited the BJP government for ushering in a new era of progress and effective governance in Odisha.
The Prime Minister emphasized the government’s tough stance on Naxalism, which has reduced violence to just 20 districts.
He assured ongoing efforts will soon free tribal communities from Naxal influence, promising complete eradication of Naxalism under BJP rule.
Prime Minister Modi highlighted healthcare expansions, noting nearly three crore Odisha residents now benefit from free treatment under Ayushman Bharat and Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana, improving medical access for poor families.
Calling Odisha a beacon of India’s rich heritage, Prime Minister Modi said the state has been a vital cultural cornerstone for thousands of years.
He added Odisha’s role in India’s development continues to grow, blending tradition with progress.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the BJP government’s commitment to tribal development and law enforcement, ensuring peace and prosperity in conflict-affected areas.
He promised the complete elimination of Naxalism from Odisha.
