New Delhi, July 21, 2025:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the media before the start of the Monsoon Session of 2025, describing it as “a moment of great pride for the nation” and “a celebration of victory for India,” said a PIB press release.

He highlighted the favorable monsoon conditions with water reservoir levels tripling compared to the past decade, which will benefit agriculture and the overall economy.

The Prime Minister celebrated the historic unfurling of the Indian tricolour at the International Space Station, calling it “a source of immense pride for every Indian citizen” that will inspire future space exploration.

Recalling Operation Sindoor, PM Modi stated the Indian Army achieved targets with “100 percent success” in neutralizing high-value terrorist bases within 22 minutes.

He expressed pride in the growing global admiration for India’s indigenously developed defence capabilities, believing the Parliament’s unity in celebrating these achievements will energize further innovation and job creation in the defence sector.

The PM emphasized that the nation is witnessing peace and progress hand-in-hand as the influence of Naxalism and Maoism rapidly shrinks.

“Hundreds of districts across the country are now breathing free,” he said, noting the transformation of former “Red Corridor” areas into “Green Growth Zones.”

Prime Minister Modi underscored that India’s Constitution is prevailing over violence.

Pointing to economic progress, PM Modi recalled that when his government came to power in 2014, India ranked 10th globally and was part of the Fragile Five. Since then, 25 crore people have come out of poverty, inflation has been stabilized around 2 percent, and India is rapidly progressing toward becoming the world’s third-largest economy, said the PM.

He highlighted Digital India and UPI as global successes, noting India’s leadership in real-time digital transactions.

Prime Minister Modi also acknowledged India’s accomplishment of being free from trachoma as declared by WHO, and the social security coverage of over 90 crore Indians recognized by the International Labour Organization.

Touching on national unity, the Prime Minister praised the cross-party efforts to expose Pakistan’s role in terrorism after the Pahalgam killings, stating that Members of Parliament “rose above party lines” to serve national interests, creating global awareness.

PM Modi urged all Members of Parliament to channel the spirit of unity and patriotism in this monsoon session and assured that several development-enhancing bills will be introduced.

He wished for a productive session with high-quality debates strengthening India’s democracy.
